Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menumbuhkembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada konsep gelombang, melaluipenerapan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif dan pemecahan masalah berkolaborasi. Model kuasi eksperimen dengan disainpretest-posttest control group digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Tes obyektif dilengkapi alasan digunakan dalam pengumpulan data.Hasil penelitian yaitu penumbuhkembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis indikator memberi penjelasan sederhana dan membangunketerampilan dasar diperoleh skor 66,3 dan 64,4; sedangkan indikator menyimpulkan dan memberi penjelasan lanjut dicapai skor54,7 dan 23,7 (skala 100). N-gain kelompok eksperimen 54 dan kontrol 42; sedangkan skor penguasaan konsep gelombang keduakelompok itu sebesar 62,6 dan 52,5 (skala 100). Uji t dengan sampel paasangan bebas diperoleh t hitung (3,92) > t tabel (1,98),untuk sampel 131, taraf signifikansi uji = 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan (dk = nt-2) = 129. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa 1)keterampilan berfikir kritis mahasiswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran kooperatif dan pemecahan masalahberkolaborasi, dan 2) penguasaan konsep gelombang kelompok eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelompok kontrol. The aim of the study was to foster critical thinking skill of university students on wave concepts, through implementation ofcooperative learning strategies and problem solving with collaboration. Experimental quasi model with pretest-posttest controlgroup design was used in the study. Objective tests followed with reasons were used collecting the data collection. The results showdevelopment of indicator for critical thinking skills provide a simple explanation and build basic skill showing score of 66.3 and 64.4;while indicator of concluding and giving further explanation showed score of 54.7 and 23.7 (scale of 100). N-gain experimentalgroup of 54 and control of 42; while mastering the concept of a second wave scored 62.6 and 52.5 (scale of 100). Sample t test witha lone pair and the degrees of freedom (df = NT2) 129. Inconclusion results show that 1 students critical thinking skills can beenhanced through cooperative and problem-solving learning collaboration, and 2) mastering the concept of wave overexperimental group is better than in control group.Keywords: critical thinking; cooperative; problem solving; wave concept

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi struktur konsep mahasiswa calon guru tentang medan elektrostatik. Data diperolehdengan menggunakan metode thinks-aloud, didukung metode lain yaitu wawancara, diskusi, dan tes tertulis Responden penelitianterdiri atas delapan mahasiswa semester 2 yang telah menempuh fisika dasar sebagai kelompok I, dan sembilan mahasiswasemester 6 yang telah menempuh mata kuliah kelistrikan dan kemagnetan sebagai kelompok II. Mahasiswa tersebut diberipertanyaan real-worlds yang menyangkut konsep dasar medan dan memerlukan jawaban secara spontan. Hasil studi inimenunjukan bahwa (1) struktur konsep mahasiswa mengenai medan elektrostatik pada umumnya mengalami fragmentasi; (2)mahasiswa mengalami kerancuan dalam memahami konsep medan elektrostatik; (3) Pada umumnya, mahasiswa masihberlandaskan konsep gaya dalam memahami tentang medan. The purpose of this research is to explore the concept structure of electrostatics field of teacher candidate student. In thisexperiment, we used thinks-aloud method and varied by others (interview, discussion and written-test). Respondent consisted ofeight students of second semester passing Basic Physics subject as the first group and nine students of sixth semester passingelectricity and magnetism subject as the second group. On these students the real world questions related to concept of field andneeded spontaneous answer are asked. The study result shows that (1) in general the concept structure of electrostatics field ofstudents undergoes fragmenting process; (2) the students experience contamination in understanding the electrostatics fieldconcept, and (3) in general the students are still based on the force concept in understanding the field.Keywords: framing analysis, teacher candidate student, concept structure

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model multimedia interaktif berbasis gaya belajar dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep pendahuluan fisika zat padat mahasiswa calon guru. Metode eksperimen dengan desain control group pretest-posttest design dilaksanakan terhadap 37 mahasiswa kelas eks-perimen dan 36 mahasiswa kelas kontrol di LPTK Sumatera Selatan. Instrumen berupa kuesioner gaya belajar, tes pilihan ganda, angket dan lembar observasi. Uji t beda rerata digunakan melihat peningkatan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada gaya belajar visual sebesar 83,0 (kategori tinggi) dan terendah pada gaya belajar kinestetik sebesar 66,3 (ketegori sedang). Peningkatan penguasaan konsep kelas eksperimen 74 (kategori tinggi) dan kelas kontrol 47 (ketegori sedang). Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan  multimedia interaktif berbasis gaya belajar lebih efektif daripada pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep pendahuluan fisika zat padat.This study aims to see the effect of interactive multimedia model based learning styles to improve the concept mastery introductory solid state physics prospective teachers. Experimental methods with pretest posttes control group design implemented of 37 students in the experimental class and 36 students in the control class LPTK South Sumatra. Instruments of learning styles questionnaires, multiple choice tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. The mean difference t test used to see an increase in student concepts of mastery. The results showed that the highest increase occurred in the visual learning style that is equal to 83.0 (high category) and the lowest at 66.3 for kinesthetic learning styles (medium category). Increased concept of mastery class experiments 74 (high category) and a control class 47 (medium category). Concluded that the use of interactive multimedia-based learning style is more effective than conventional learning in improving the concept mastery introductory solid-state physics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji dampak pendekatan representasi pada peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang konsep percepatan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 24 mahasiswa pendidikan fisika Universitas Negeri Malang yang mengambil matakuliah Kapita Selekta Fisika Sekolah pada semester gasal tahun akademik 2011/2012. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian mixed-method, disimpulkan beberapa dampak sebagai berikut: (1) Skor penguasaan konsep mahasiswa meningkat secara signifikan dari rata-rata 50,8% menjadi 85,0%, dengan efect size yang sangat tinggi (1,67) dan gain ternormalisasi yang juga tinggi (0,71). (2) Mahasiswa mampu menggunakan definisi operasional percepatan   untuk menganalisis diagram gerak yang berupa multi-flash; (3) Mahasiswa bisa memperbaiki sejumlah miskonsepsinya tentang percepatan; (4) Namun, sebagian kecil mahasiswa masih terpaku dengan miskonsepsinya bahwa percepatan benda yang ditembakkan ke atas berkurang seiring dengan ketinggiannya, dan tegangan tali pada ayunan selalu sama dengan berat pendulum.This research examined the impact of representational approach on the improvement of students’ understanding of acceleration. Subject consisted of 24 prospective physics teacher students of State University of Malang, enrolling Selected Topic of School Physics course in Semester I of 2011/2012 academic year. Using mixed-methods design, this study concluded that (1) students’ mean score of conceptual test increased significantly from 50.8% to 85.0% with very large d-effect size (1.67) and high normalized-gain (0.71), (2) students became able to use operational definition of acceleration   to analyze multi-flash motion diagram, and (3) students remediated their misconceptions of acceleration. However, few students stuck in their misconception that acceleration of a shot-up object is decreasing with its elevation, and the tension in the rope of a swinging pendulum is equal to the weight of its bob.

Abstract

Perkuliahan Pendahuluan Fisika Inti (PFI) di Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika di suatu LPTK di Ambon terkendala oleh kurangnya penguasaan matematika dasar mahasiswa, juga tenaga dosen dan ruangan jumlahnya terbatas. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut di atas, maka dilakukan perkuliahan berbasis web dengan memperhatikan matematika dasar terkait. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tentang: (1) konten matematika dasar yang berkaitan langsung dengan materi PFI, dan (2) korelasi antara penguasaan materi Matematika Dasar (MD) mahasiswa dan penguasaan materi PFI mereka setelah melalui suatu perkuliahan. Studi ini dilakukan secara kuasi eksperimen terhadap dua kelompok mahasiswa, masing-masing berjumlah 28 orang. Kelompok yang pertama diajarkan dengan menggunakan perkuliahan konvensional dengan tatap muka di dalam kelas selama delapan kali pertemuan sedangkan kelompok kedua menggunakan blended learning. Pada kedua kelompok mahasiswa dilakukan tes awal dan tes akhir materi MD dan PFI. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada korelasi yang tinggi antara penguasaan materi Matematika Dasar dengan materi Pendahuluan Fisika Inti.ABSTRACTNuclear Physics Introduction (NPI) is a course in Physics Education Program in a teacher education program in Ambon. In order to overcome the problems, a web based NPI course had been carried out. The aims of this research were to know: (1) which mathematics contents related to NPI and (2) the correlation between students’ mastery on basic mathematics and their mastery on NPI. This study was conducted in a quasi-experimental design. There were two groups consisted of 28 students in each group. The first group had been taught by direct instruction, and the second by blended learning. There were administered a pre-test and a post-test of basic mathematics and NPI for both groups. The results showed that there was a strong correlation between students’ mastery on basic mathematics and their mastery on Nuclear Physics Introduction.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the creative thinking skills of prospective physics teacher as the impact of the application of interactive thermodynamics multimedia (ITMM). The research method used is quasi experiment with control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 34 students in the experimental group and 33 students in the control group. Participant students are physics physics semester fourth, in one of the state universities in East Kalimantan. The research instrument consists of multiple choice test items charged with creative thinking skills. Data were analyzed by using difference test of two averages. The normalized gain gain score <g> of creative thinking skill aspect on the experimental group is 0.60 and the control group is 0.31. This indicates that the creative thinking skills of the prospective physics teacher increase significantly after they experience thermodynamic learning with interactive multimedia. Thus it can be concluded that the use of interactive multimedia improve the creative thinking skills of prospective physics teachers.

Abstract
